Release New Single & Video of 90's Classic "A Girl Like You" Cover.

Joining forces for a duet cover of the Edwyn Collins classic ‘A Girl Like You’ - My Ruin vocalist Tairrie B. Murphy
teams up with longtime friend Jack Osborne and his band Call To The Void in this darkly playful, amplified interpretation of the 1990s hit.

A coming together of two friends and a reflection on their history & connection through the years.

In 2003, a young Jack Osborne first encountered Tairrie B when attending a My Ruin show at Highbury Garage in London.

The connection was immediate and infinite with an unspoken understanding that transcended the usual fan-artist dynamic.

Over the next two decades, their friendship grew, deepening into a strong bond and mutual admiration for each other which echoes in the cryptic language of this evocative timeless love song.

After attending many shows over the years, Jack was invited to join My Ruin on tour.

First as a friend, then as a merch man and part of the crew becoming an integral part of their journey and eventually singing on stage with Tairrie in cities across the UK, Paris

and at the iconic Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles, Ca.

As Jack honed his craft, Tairrie became a musical mentor & champion. Encouraging Jack to start his own band.

With an ocean between them, they sustained a loyal & solid relationship which has stood the test of time.
What began with a single encounter at a concert in 2003 has now come full circle as they become true musical allies in the studio.

Jack elaborates, “I think the 'Girl' in the song was always Tairrie, we just didn’t know it until we recorded it together.

We’ve both shared a love for this song through the years and whilst it’s clear Edwyn is singing about a love interest, for us, it's not a romantic story

but it is certainly a love story, with love and respect for each other and each other’s art. We wanted to create a sort of cross over of genres with the cover.

Tairrie has so many vocal abilities, from rap to rock to spoken word and I think we cover a lot of ground vocally in this song.”
