Aaron Koenig Releases Hip Hop Track about Bitcoin’s Mascot

Aaron Koenig usually makes music about spiritual topics that rocks and groove, but he also loves Bitcoin. Therefore his new single is a funky rap about Bitcoin’s mascot, the honey badger, and his badass attitude: “Honey badger don’t care, honey badger don’t give a shit”.

This animal from Africa is known for its strength, resilience and tenacity. It fights fearlessly against much larger beasts such as lions and hyenas, just as Bitcoin fights against banks and governments. A viral video made it famous, so it was adopted by the Bitcoin community. It can be seen on many t-shirts, caps and hoodies worn by Bitcoin fans. Conferences, blogs and podcasts have been named after it.

Aaron has been active in the Bitcoin community for many years, he wrote five books, organised meetups and created videos about the decentralised currency. He has not become rich financially by it, as he has been living from his Bitcoin income for the last 13 years, so he had to sell most of the Bitcoins he earned. 

“However, I became very rich in experiences and friendships”, Aaron explains. “I’ve travelled to many countries, and I’ve met the most amazing, warm-hearted and idealistic people through Bitcoin. This is a kind of wealth that cannot be measured in money!”

Aaron Koenig writes catchy songs for people who like meaningful, uplifting themes and guitar-driven, handmade sounds. His songs have been streamed more than 500,000 times on Spotify since May 2024. His most popular song Death has more than 90,000 Spotify streams, its music video has more than 90,000 views on YouTube.
