Singer-songwriter Angella Corinna has announced details of her long-awaited second EP. Featuring the tracks Nature’s End and Safe Brown Token, Nature’s End EP is released on Friday 4 July 2025, and boasts some of her most personal and revealing work to date.
The EP’s title track is taken from the book by the same name. Written in 1986 by Whitley Strieber and James Kunetka, Nature’s End is a 2025-set dystopian thriller that imagines an over-populated world on the precipice of environmental collapse after decades of abuse.
It was a story that left a lasting impression on Angella.
“When I first read the book as a teenager in the mid-eighties, the year 2025 seemed to be impossibly far ahead. The terrifying future it predicted seemed unlikely to ever happen,” she says. “But then I re-read the book during the Covid lockdown and I was amazed at how accurately the future had been portrayed.”
While Nature’s End addresses the climate emergency, other tracks see the writer explore identity, racism, division and ‘fake news’ – all big issues which Angella is keen to draw our attention to.
Though deceptively light and bouncy, Safe Brown Token carries a weighty message, inspired by Angella’s personal experience working as a ‘diversity hire’, while the deeply personal Assimilation Game recalls her experience of bullying and racism, and the devastating effect it had on her mental health. Propaganda And Conspiracy Theories observes how official and unofficial sources clash, especially in the wake of the pandemic.
The EP closes on the spiritually charged hymnal piece Song For Humanity, a song Angella describes as her call for society to “… overcome our differences and embrace our similarities at a time when division and hatred are on the rise around the world. I believe that there is a power in songs to transcend what separates us, and music can help humanity find the common ground of mutual respect and understanding.”
Nature’s End EP follows Angella’s debut, 2021’s acclaimed I Protest EP, and was produced by the writer with musicians/producers Peter Millson and Dan Whitehouse.
Millson and Whitehouse first met while they were both separately signed to Reveal Records, quickly forming a friendship that has seen the pair co-write and collaborate on a series of releases.
Angella’s songwriting brings out the best in their partnership as Peter’s drum loops and ambient synths fuse with Dan’s signature Americana guitar licks to create the perfect backdrop for her confessional and revealing songs.
Initial recording for the EP took place at Wolverhampton Arts Centre (located on the site of Angella’s school) with Dan producing as well as playing lead guitar, keyboards and backing vocals.
Recordings were then shared with Peter in Bridport, where he added percussive layers, bass, synths, and an ambient sonic landscape before tracks made their way to London-based Harriet Harkcom, who added her haunting harmonies. Tracks where then mixed and mastered by Peter.
The distinctive Nature’s End EP cover was created by Bristol-based graphic designer, Ben Menter.
