Irish auteur Annie-Dog shares brand new single ‘My Honey’, out today (November 26th) via AWAL.
Accompanied by news of her debut headline show at Dublin’s iconic Whelan’s venue in late January, ‘My Honey’ follows the enigmatic musician’s acclaimed two EP releases, and arrives ahead of what promises to be a mammoth 2026 with live dates and new music aplenty.
Influenced by a plethora of fellow idiosyncratic artists including Dean Blunt, Imogen Heap, and Alex G, ‘My Honey’ is a wholly DIY song, written, recorded, produced and mixed by Annie-Dog. A bittersweet, shapeshifting alternative pop track, the track is sweetly complemented by its contrastingly soft vocal delivery. The song is personal, like a whisper on the dance floor, and focuses on the breakdown of communication within a relationship. Her vocals carefully sit within the music, surrounded by a world of moving electronic elements, distorted guitar, and unrelenting drums, almost demonstrating how inept she is at communicating her feelings outwardly. It’s clear upon hearing this track that Annie-Dog would much rather dance it out, than talk.
Remaining firmly at the forefront of the rising indie elite, Annie-Dog’s hypnotic medium of existential indie-pop musings has already attracted countless plaudits throughout the press landscape, with key champions emerging such as The Guardian, The Fader, NME, Dork Magazine, DIY Magazine, The Line Of Best Fit, So Young Magazine, Clash, Wonderland, Crack, Gorilla vs Bear and Notion, not to mention spins galore on the BBC 6 Music (Deb Grant, Tom Ravenscroft, Emily Pilbeam) Radio X (John Kennedy), RTÉ (Dan Hegarty) and SiriusXM airwaves.
Annie-Dog’s ‘My Honey’ is out now via AWAL and available on all digital platforms.
