German trio PABST are pleased to reveal their new single ‘Orca Whale’, set for release on 22nd August 2025 via Alcopop! Records and Ketchup Tracks.
The track comes with a surreal official music video featuring the trio rocking out on a rowing boat and in a lush, colour-saturated field.
Imagine a bunch of billionaires on their yacht in the middle of the Atlantic. A killer whale towers in front of them and crashes right through the deck like a vengeful eco terrorist. Welcome to ‘Orca Whale’, the new single from Berlin-based hyper-rock band PABST that'll make you want to high-five a marine mammal.
An anti-capitalist middle finger fever dream in which nature takes revenge for the failed human hegemony, the song drifts in waves—reverb-drenched emo chords and dense drum fills drag the listener into the dark depths of the band's nihilistic thoughts.
"I'm all yours, Orca whale, I'm gonna dive into the waves with you…”
‘Orca Whale’ is the third single to be taken from their upcoming fourth studio album This is normal now, released 28th November 2025 via Alcopop! Records / Ketchup Tracks, and follows on from ‘I felt all there is to feel’ featuring guest vocals from Shane Parsons, frontman of Australian dance-punk heroes and labelmates DZ Deathrays.
Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Magnus Wichmann at lala Studios, Leipzig, This is normal now is unmistakably PABST at their most sharpened, and—as ever—what they deliver is impossible to replicate.
One of Germany’s most exciting rock exports, praised for their mix of fuzz, grunge, and irony-soaked indie, PABST have over 200 shows under their belt to date.
After two self-released albums Deuce Ex Machina (2020) and Crushed by the Weight of the World (2022), the band signed to Alcopop! Records’ bustling roster in 2023 for the release of their unruly live album 1, 2, 3, Go!.
With a Top 20-charting album in Germany, love from the inimitable Daniel P Carter at BBC R1, and a veritable smorgasbord of tours across Europe with the likes of Billy Talent, The Beatsteaks, Bob Mould, snake eyes, and Beach Riot under their belts, the three Berliners’ antics are no longer solely confined to the German-speaking corner of the music industry.
As evidenced by recent appearances on the big stages of The Great Escape Festival (UK), renowned Rock am Ring Festival (GER), Sziget Festival in Budapest (HUN) and Madcool Festival in Madrid (ES), now is the time for PABST to take the bull by the horns, and their irresistible Hyper-Rock to global audiences.
Starting in December 2025, PABST will hit the road on their newly-announced “Sorry For Hyper-Rocking” headline tour, and for those of you in Germany there’s absolutely no excuse to miss one of the country’s finest exports.
Further international live dates and album details will be announced over the coming months.
This is normal now by PABST is released 28th November 2025 via Ketchup Tracks & Alcopop! Records.
