Billy Reeves Releases New Album: “When Lord God Almighty Reads the News”

Music veteran Billy Reeves has officially released his third solo LP, When Lord God Almighty Reads the News, available now on bottle green vinyl via Last Night From Glasgow.

Reeves, known for his eclectic career spanning music, broadcasting, and journalism, first gained recognition as a member of Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s early band theaudience before discovering The Darkness. His latest album blends slick electro with elements of prog, produced by Nigel Butler (Chicane, Backstreet Boys, Phil Manzanera).

Radio support for the album has been strong, with BBC 6 Music backing the singles and Radio X hosting a special session and interview hour with Reeves. The album marks the first half of a planned diptych, chronicling his descent into anarchy.

Beyond his music, Reeves has built a remarkable career as an award-winning BBC football correspondent, a Guinness World Record holder, and even the mastermind behind the rebranding of his hometown as Staines-upon-Thames. His life story, including surviving a coma during 9/11, adds a unique dimension to his artistic voice.

When Lord God Almighty Reads the News is available now on vinyl and streaming services.
