brighton-based gritpop duo snake eyes are absolutely delighted to announce that they will release their long-awaited debut album, cash rich, on 30th january 2026 via alcopop! records (uk) and grand hotel van cleef (ger).
self-produced by band members jim heffy and thomas coe-brooker, the album was mixed by tom hill (john, soot sprite) and mastered by dan coutant (the wonder years, fiddlehead, drug church).
commenting on the news, the band say: “we saw our debut album as an opportunity to step in directions we’ve not stepped before. there’s a comical self-reflection on the past and the present, but eco-anxiety and the future of our planet are lyrically at the centre of the record. it marries tongue-in-cheek observation with feelings of helplessness and existentialism, juxtaposed with a couple scoops of hopefulness and a sprinkle of self-belief. in short, cash rich is a collection of doomsday foot-tappers for the fellow tree hugger. all is love x”
to celebrate the announcement, anthemic climate-activism lead single ‘no cars’ will be available to stream from 10th september 2025 on all good digital service providers.
continuing the band’s outspoken ecopolitical messaging, the track is a searing indictment of big oil and its destructive, profiteering practices.
commenting on the track, the band said: “‘no cars’ is a song about oil companies prioritising profits over the environment and not being held accountable. it’s about those with true power choosing their wallets over our future. the measures put in place to alleviate emissions, like ulez, are nothing but a tax on poor people and really achieve nothing. systemic change is due, and the time is now.”
snake eyes kicked off 2025 with their roaring return single ‘hug me’—featuring guest vocals from erik heise of german punk chart toppers and touring buddies pabst—and follow ups ‘jar full of wasps’ and ‘hdtv’, picking up support from bbc r1, bbc 6music, radio x and hitting global spotify new music friday playlists.
starting the year with a raft of high profiles support slots alongside the meffs, dune rats, you me at six, and kid kapichi, the pair recently announced that they will be performing as a live duo for the foreseeable future, following the departure of bassist sophie douglas last year.
following a slew of summer 2025 festival appearances, snake eyes are also today pleased to announce they will support dinosaur pile up on their forthcoming september 2025 uk tour dates alongside the xcerts, with the band’s own october 2025 german headline dates also on sale now (see below for listings).

formed in 2020, snake eyes already have an impressive array of live shows under their belt, so far including a music venue trust and national lottery revive live co-headline tour with james and the cold gun, and an eclectic host of support tours and shows with gender roles, delta sleep, sick joy, bad nerves, weakened friends, pabst, trophy eyes, cheekface, press club and uk album chart toppers don broco.
2023 saw the band heading out on their first ever headline tour to packed and sold out rooms across the uk, supporting the xcerts on their headline uk dates, releasing the health ep via new label home alcopop! records, and boasting a chaotic festival season including sets at truck, ynot, leopallooza, teddy rocks, tiffcuff, left of the dial and a whopping 4 performances at the great escape.
2024 was another bumper year for the ever-restless duo as they built on their ever-growing platform. their standalone climate change charity single ‘hottest day on record’ raised over £400 for music declares and greenpeace, with support from radio 1, radio x, spotify, clash magazine and more.
the band then followed up with uk tour dates supporting october drift and mouth culture, german tour dates with kettcar, and international festival appearances at down the rabbit hole, truck festival, 2000 trees, sneister, left of the dial, and more.
looking ahead to 2025, the band embark on their biggest shows to date while dropping an onslaught of new music from their biggest release to date, pushing the limits on what you've heard from them in every direction.
