BryGuy returns with another heart-wrenching favorite, "Buried Love & Broken Hearts," reimagined with a fresh, modern mix for his upcoming EP, Familiar Ghosts. Originally written in 2010 and released in its first form in 2013, this new version retains the raw emotion of the original while breathing new life into its production.
“Familiar Ghosts is about revisiting old emotions and giving them a proper home,” says BryGuy. “Buried Love & Broken Hearts was always one of the most personal songs I’ve written, and it deserved a new mix that reflected how far I’ve come sonically — even if the feeling behind it still stings a little.”
The track blends nostalgic acoustic emo-pop tones with a biting lyrical honesty that fans of BryGuy have come to love. With vivid metaphors like “grab a shovel so we can dig up your chest, we'll open it up and try to find the love inside your heart” and themes of heartbreak and emotional coldness, this song strikes a balance between vulnerability and defiance.
Following the release of the updated version of Somewhere Down the Road, “Buried Love & Broken Hearts” is the next step in a series of revamped songs from BryGuy’s past catalog that have stood the test of time — now presented the way they were always meant to be heard.
