Dark Matter Th. Release Debut EP ‘Do You Think You Know Me’

‘Do You Think You Know Me’ is the first EP from Dark Matter Th., released on 16 May. The Tuscan band, hailing from Pietrasanta in Versilia, formed in 2024 when Ennio Tonin (guitar and vocals) and Lapo Santini (drums) came together. They completed their lineup at the start of 2025 with the addition of Alessandro Pardini on bass—a talented musician from Pisa with years of experience.

This power trio’s sound is strongly influenced by 70s and 90s rock but thoughtfully incorporates blues elements rather than darker or new wave tones. Each member shines in their own right, adding distinctive touches throughout the EP.

Produced by Alessandro Pardini, who also plays keyboards on the tracks “Someone Else to Blame” and “Empty Cup,” the EP opens with distorted guitars paired with a driving, convincing rhythm section.

In ‘Wrong Day,’ the band explores a bluesy riff, highlighted by Lapo’s skilful drumming that adds a captivating groove. The EP closes with its title track, a beautiful rock ballad featuring Ennio’s heartfelt lyrics and melody, making it a standout moment.

Overall, ‘Do You Think You Know Me’ is a strong debut and an excellent foundation. Fans of honest, sincere rock music will find a compelling new voice in Dark Matter Th.
