Formed in 2024 and comprising vocalist Russell Loo, drummer Rayner Loh, guitarist Ethan Wang and bassist Yap Yi Yang, Eden Eyes emerged from humble beginnings as a varsity cover band at the National University of Singapore. Quickly evolving from heavy renditions of Top 40 hits to original compositions, they have carved a niche in Singapore’s metalcore scene with their singles First Class Horrors and Heartworm.
Eden Eyes delivers a darkly atmospheric and unyieldingly heavy sound, blending diverse influences from metalcore and deathcore to indie and pop punk that results in an uncompromising blend of heavy riffs, atmospheric melodies, and evocative lyricism.
Their debut single First Class Horrors, inspired by their roots as a school-based band, critiques Singapore's demanding education system and won the NUS Outstanding Original Artistic Work award, quickly becoming a fan favourite and reflecting the band’s desire to relate to a new generation of listeners.
Quickly amassing a slew of shows under their belt, their live performances have taken on a characteristic massiveness, enrapturing audiences and decimating venues with massive soundscapes and crushing heaviness, leaving fans clamouring for more.
Fresh from opening the highly anticipated *SCAPE Music Day Out! event on New Year's Eve 2024, Eden Eyes is poised for more prominent stages in 2025. Their debut EP “HALF A LIFE”, released in the summer of 2025, promises an exploration of personal darkness and emotional intensity, solidifying their distinctive sonic identity by blending personal yet relatable storytelling with vicious instrumentation, coloured with musically refreshing idiosyncrasies.
