Emma Tea releases new single ‘House on Fire’
Emerging London-based alt/pop artist and multi-instrumentalist Emma Tea unveils her new single “House on Fire”—a striking blend of liquid drum & bass and alt-pop melancholy that paints a vivid picture of emotional burnout, masked by a deceiving sense of calm.
Written and produced in collaboration with Bournemouth artist duo BLVCK VIOLET, the track explores themes of overstimulation, self-delusion, and the quiet comforts of denial. Lyrically, it captures the moment of sitting calmly on the edge of a breakdown—dancing between festival highs and bedroom lows.
Musically, “House on Fire” draws influence from the likes of Kenya Grace and Venbee, with Emma’s delicate yet emotionally charged vocals floating above rolling basslines, crisp drums, and atmospheric synths. It’s both danceable and devastating—quiet chaos wrapped in shimmering sonics.
This single also marks a milestone for BLVCK VIOLET, as it’s the first release where they serve purely as producers rather than performers. Mixing and mastering were handled by Jennings Couch at Holywell Studios.
ABOUT EMMA TEA
Since debuting in 2022, Emma Tea has carved a distinct space in the alt-pop scene with a series of singles and a well-received EP released in January 2024. Known for her ability to merge electronic textures with introspective songwriting, she continues to evolve her sound—most recently exploring liquid DnB influences.
Her inspirations span Billie Eilish, Aurora, Ellie Goulding, Sophie Powers, and Kenya Grace, helping shape a sonic identity that feels ethereal, emotionally raw, and genre-fluid. Authenticity remains central to her artistry, with songs rooted in personal experience and vulnerability.
A natural storyteller, Emma has cultivated a loyal fanbase—particularly across the UK and Europe—largely through TikTok, where her relatability and openness have sparked thousands of connections. She’s even launched a penpal exchange with fans, now engaging over 30 active members and sharing personalised “bestea bracelets” through the post.
Live, Emma Tea’s performances are equally magnetic. With appearances at venues such as The Ned for Jodie Bryant’s New Music Monday, she continues to establish herself as a rising live act to watch. With each release, Emma builds further momentum—pushing boundaries while staying true to her core.
