Epic homage to the pioneering singer-songwriters - Baby Condor sings about authenticity in their new single ‘Silver Stereo’
Silver Stereo is the third single of Baby Condor’s forthcoming self-titled debut EP, set to be released on January 23rd through Coast to Coast records. A melancholic song about times when music was more human than robot, more art than product. Before big tech execs and their numbers games took over the natural flow of what resonated, forcing artists to focus on anything but art. An overly romantic picture perhaps, but a romantic picture nonetheless.
Influenced by pop, country, folk and indie, a vintage production style, live horns, an anthem-like chorus, and instrumental solos, the track continues Baby Condor’s mission to make timeless, soul-infused music for the modern listener. A nod to the golden era of songwriting and production that inspired the Dutch brother duo from a young age.
The song is about the silver Luxman L-4 amplifier their father used to own and which introduced them to the likes of the Beatles, Beach Boys, and many more, this is where their love for 60/70s music started. Drawing on these influences Baby Condor takes you on a cinematic escape down endless highways and sunlit coastlines.
Created entirely in their self-built Mermaid Studio, brothers Nolle and Beinte Groen wrote, arranged and produced “Silver Stereo” themselves, down to the hand-soldered recording gear and analogue effects that define their sound. With Menno Nijen Es on Wurlitzer and
Hammond, and the legendary hornpack featuring Isaac McCluskey, Nick Feenstra and Joël Botma on trombone, alto saxophone and trumpet.
