Esmae Links With Chart-Topper OMI For 'Depend On You'
[3rd October 2025] Rising British newcomer Esmae shares exciting single ‘Depend on You ft. OMI’ - her first single of 2025. With its flowing feel and power vocals, ‘Depend on You ft OMI’ is definitely a stand out tune.
‘Depend on You ft OMI’ is a huge collaboration - Esmae’s sound blends beautifully with OMI’s bars on this track. The use of repetition is clever and a great technique to create a catchy explosive memorable chorus. The song is layered with overlaid reverb vocals in the intro and as the song builds it reaches a crescendo in the final chorus. This song is smooth, classy and cool. With textured drum beats and chilled synth patterns the track has an RnB feel and showcases Esmae isn't afraid of experimenting with different sounds and styles - it’s definitely paying off.
OMI - an incredibly talented and successful artist - is collaborating with Esmae on ‘Depend on You' and his input adds so much to this track. OMI is known for his breakout hit single ‘Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn Remix)’ released in 2015. He released an album that same year (Me 4 U) and this is his only album to date. So new music from OMI is very exciting.
OMI released his latest single in 2024 - ‘Poker Face’ which climbed to 21 on the Music Week Pop Chart.
Speaking on the release, Esmae said: “The song came to me while I was out on a catamaran in the Seychelles. The sun was lighting up the ocean - everything was golden. You could feel the love in the air. It was one of those rare moments where everything just felt... magical. After writing the first idea, I thought to myself, Who would be perfect for this? And it was a no-brainer - OMI.”

Teeside artist Esmae first turned heads in 2019 when she uploaded a collection of songs to Soundcloud, quickly amassing over 500,000 streams and earning plays on BBC introducing with all her singles. Her YouTube covers went on to rack up over a million views, building a loyal online following. In 2021 she released her debut EP ‘Do Better’, blending old-school R&B influences with modern pop and dance. Since then, Esmae has continued to rise, with her 2023 single ‘Undone’ hitting number 8 on the iTunes Pop Charts and being named one of the Official Charts’ favourite Singles of the Week, while follow-up single ‘Fire’ also broke into the top 10 at number 9.
