Esoterica Release Final Single ‘Alive’ Ahead of Album ‘Ether Metal’ on Year of the Rat Records

Esoterica are an ethereal progressive hard-rock band from London with heavy, proggy and melodic moments. The band have previously supported on several arena tours as well as playing some of the most prestigious festivals in Europe. They have been played many times on national radio stations (Kerrang! BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music) and acclaimed by national press (Metal Hammer, Prog, Kerrang!) being voted one of the top 20 albums in Prog magazine. Esoterica has been streamed over 10 million times on YouTube and Spotify combined. The band recently announced they have signed with UK label Year Of The Rat Records (Save Us, Lastelle, Black Orchid Empire) and release final single ‘Alive’ on the 12th September ahead of new album ‘Ether Metal’ on 19th September 2025 and their UK headline tour which is selling rapidly.

Esoterica unveil "Alive" — a powerful and deeply personal new single about the sudden loss of close friends. Featuring lyrics that channel grief and survival through cinematic intensity, Alive is one of the band’s most emotionally resonant tracks to date. The breathtaking music video, crafted entirely in 3D over the course of a year by acclaimed digital artist Ignis Santander, is a stunning visual journey through struggle & loss and brings our epic cinematic journey to a final conclusion. Once again, Esoterica are joined by Choir Noir and the Parallax Orchestra, bringing orchestral weight to the track’s explosive climax. Mixed by Luke Keast with additional engineering by their renowned production team, Alive is both a tribute and a triumph.
