Fishbone Premieres a Mixed-Media Video for “Suckered by Sabotage” from Their New Album Stockholm Syndrome
FISHBONE PREMIERES A MIXED-MEDIA VIDEO FOR
“SUCKERED BY SABOTAGE”
FROM THEIR NEW ALBUM STOCKHOLM SYNDROME
A Funk-Punk Psychedelic Odyssey of Self-Inflicted Disruption
(Los Angeles, CA | August 11, 2025) – Legendary rock-punk-funk pioneers Fishbone deliver a mixed-media video featuring animation and live show footage for “Suckered by Sabotage”, a sonically wild, genre-defying ride through the pitfalls of overthinking, insecurity, and creative dysfunction. Premiering HERE
Speaking about the song, In Spite Magazine praised it as “a total thrash punk intro, then a dub reggae verse, then funk, then back again — classic Fishbone genre-hopping brilliance.”
“This song is about: the results of too much second-guessing and overthinking, coupled with insecurity and self-doubt,” says frontman Angelo Moore. “Leaving one unfulfilled and incomplete. This story was inspired by a particular work ethic that took place during a group’s creative, productive endeavor, which prevented an expeditious, timely result. It tells the story of how one can step in their own way as well as others, preventing progress.”
“Suckered By Sabotage opens with a full sonic onslaught, but over its five‑minute runtime, slows the tempo, psychedelic-inspired refrains, and a chorus driven by a strong, hard funk backbeat.” – Spill Magazine
Keyboardist, trombone, and vocalist Christopher Dowd adds, “From Raymond Scott to One Drop, with a chorus of the deepest darkest funk to head nod to. It’s a Fishbone track that only Fishbone could genuinely pull off.”
The song is from their new album Stockholm Syndrome, a quintessential Fishbone experience—melding ska, punk, funk, jazz, and unfiltered chaos and commentary. “The band sounds refreshed and reinvigorated as they kick out 12 red-hot tracks that will have you dancing, moshing, and thinking.” – Punk News
Fishbone is fronted by the one-of-a-kind Angelo Moore and longtime creative force Christopher Dowd, alongside a rejuvenated lineup including bassist James Jones, drummer Hassan Hurd, trumpeter/vocalist John “JS” Williams II, and returning guitarist Tracey “Spacey T” Singleton. The new video is part of the band’s ongoing creative resurgence, proving once again that Fishbone remains as fearless and inventive as ever.
"The ska-funk-metal mavericks return, still partying, but even more pissed off...Fishbone is still getting down while the world hovers on the brink. If Moore, Dowd, and Co. are a little madder and broader in their approach now, it’s only because they believe their music can still make a difference, and they’ll do what it takes to be heard." -- Spin Magazine
