Fleabustiers Share New Single “Tragic Carpet” – Out Now
For fans of Led Zeppelin
On 24 October, Fleabustiers shared their brand-new single “Tragic Carpet”, a song with a story to tell and a motion design video that puts human creativity front and centre.
With this release, the musical collective delivers ambitious progressive rock with hypnotic oriental influences, socially aware themes, and fearless artistic choices.
The track unfolds like a modern-day tale from The Arabian Nights, guiding listeners through the story of an underestimated heroine who rises up against a tyrant. Musically, it’s their richest and most layered song yet — full of new textures and colours.
“At first, the music made us think of a magic carpet, then it grew darker and became a ‘tragic carpet,’ symbol of struggle and revolt,” Fleabustiers explains.
That image sets the tone for the song’s double meaning: a commentary on power and opulence in decline, or a personal reflection on the abuse of power many of us face in our lives.
The ending avoids the easy happy ever after. Instead, it captures the messy reality of victory, where justice and bitterness often sit side by side.
“This is a track we’re really proud of. It shows we can tell stories that are easy to connect with while also exploring bolder musical ideas,” the artists say.
At a time when AI is everywhere in the arts, Fleabustiers defend the irreplaceable spark of human creativity. For them, the true power of music and visuals comes from sensitivity, artistic choices, and collaboration.
That’s why they teamed up with director Nolan Bourrel to carry the song’s message even further through the video.
“What mattered to us was bringing together two visions: ours and another artist’s — not a soulless algorithm’s.”
Designed in motion graphics, the lyric video brings deserts, palaces, and glowing colours to life. Its shifting tone — at times warm and inviting, at others intense and oppressive — mirrors the seductive allure and underlying control of tyranny.
“Tragic Carpet” is for listeners who are curious, open-minded, and eager to explore a world where sound, story, and visuals unite to address the major social issues of today.
