Gab De La Vega releases “No Cigar” , an acoustic reinterpretation of one of Millencolin's most iconic songs.
The single, accompanied by a music video, pays tribute to a track that defined an entire punk rock generation - reimagined through the personal, sincere, and straightforward style that defines the Brescia-based singer-songwriter.

“I started playing this acoustic version every once in a while during my solo sets a couple of years ago. Eventually, during my US tour last year, I realized that my reinterpretation of this immortal classic somehow perfectly represented both my style and my punk rock roots.
Since Millencolin are a Swedish band, I would often point out that this song comes from a European band - and being Italian myself, touring the States, it felt ironic and fun to say: 'Yes, you guys have some great bands, and I grew up listening to a lot of American music, but this is how we do it in Europe.'
It was my way of nodding to the unique European twist in Millencolin's punk rock sound - and, in a way, to my own take on punk rock, songwriting, and music in general. Every time I played the song, people sang along, and I thought it would be a great idea to capture that feeling in the studio.”
The release follows Life Burns , out via SBÄM Records , Sell The Heart Records , Epidemic Records , Motorcity Produzioni , and Overdrive Records – an album that best represents Gab De La Vega's current sound, especially during his full band performances with The Open Cages .
With “No Cigar” , Gab once again showcases his ability to bridge the worlds of punk rock and songwriting, breathing new life into a classic with authenticity and contemporary sensitivity.
Alongside the single release, Gab De La Vega celebrates the 10th anniversary of Never Look Back with a special acoustic tour - a return to his roots, voice and guitar, retracing a decade of music, experiences, and travels.
