Guilty Party - Size Nines: A tribute to best mates met too late
About
Cardiff band Guilty Party releases, ‘Size Nines’, a two and a half minute stomp dedicated to late bloomer besties. Take a blurry walk through a house party, dodge a crowd surfer, lose your mates, find them, have a few cute revelations with someone you barely know, finish with a guitar duet and a chorus. It’s a simple song, but it’s a simple feeling, smiling in good company. Even if you’re having a blast, out at a mad party, you could both do an Irish goodbye and it’d be just as cool with the two of you and some shite on TV.
Recorded at Stompbox Studios by Todd Campbell

Quote
“It was a bunch of lyrics scribbled down on a notepad while I was working at Currys as a Christmas temp. The song’s basically about consciously enjoying something so much with someone new and wishing you had met as kids and had that time back. We’ve been wanting to do a Tom Petty meets Dinosaur Jr kind of thing for ages - super tight verses and big fuzzy choruses, this one definitely fits into that gear.”

Bio
Cardiff based Guilty Party strikes a hooky balance of indie sleaze and grunge pop. First singles 'Lemonade', 'Unwound' and 'Wanna Change', recorded and produced with Gethin Pearson (Jaws, Badly Drawn Boy, Crystal Fighters) all enjoyed BBC Radio airplay, with Lemonade playlisted at Cardiff Stadium for 6 Nations. 'Where Do We Go From Here' made bigger waves, featuring on 6 Music's roundtable, with a more direct, live sound captured with Todd Campbell in Stompbox Studios. Their next release, millennium infused acoustic ballad, ‘‘Little More Time’, was featured on frequent BBC Radio Wales A-List rotation.
