HALFLIVES release new EP 'How Much A Heart Can Take Before It Breaks'
Italian pop rocker, Halflives, has today released her highly anticipated new EP, ‘How Much A Heart Can Take Before It Breaks, via Still Standing.
Speaking of her new EP Linda Battilani of Halflives shares, “This is the most political work I've ever put out. The older I get, the less it's just about me and my personal struggles - it’s more about me in the world, what surrounds me, and what affects more than just myself. It’s funny how you only start noticing these things as you grow up, and it’s given me a lot to think about. When you're young, it’s all about your feelings, your angst. But as you get older, your concerns expand, and this EP reflects that. I wish I could go back to being a teenager, when I didn’t have to worry about what’s happening in the world - but I do, so I wrote an EP about it.”
Talking on the musical approach she continues, "At the same time, there’s a strong influence from my teenage self in the sound. It’s like younger me and grown-up me came together to make music. There’s that raw rock energy from my early years, but with a new perspective and a more mature approach. The older me brought deeper topics to the table, a wiser way of writing lyrics, and a way to make it all more relatable.‘How Much a Heart Can Take Before It Breaks’ is my favorite work I’ve done for Halflives, and I’m really proud of it.”
‘How Much a Heart Can Take Before It Breaks’ marks a significant turning point in the project’s evolution through personal growth and songwriting confidence. Written and produced by Linda Battilani, this record returns to Halflives' alternative rock roots while diving into a new realm of social and personal reflection.
While taking on personal reflections alongside addressing issues like the consequences of social media, capitalism and marginalization, this EP is more socially critical than any of Halflives' previous works.

Having recently toured across Europe and the UK with artists like Against the Current, Palaye Royale, Smash Into Pieces, Halocene, Icon for Hire and more, Halflives' are about to embark on their biggest headline tour to date, ‘The Golden Era Tour’. Kickstarting in Antwerp on 14th April and concluding in Budapest on 4th May. The tour will include Halflives biggest UK headline show to date at The Underworld in London.
