May 23, 2025 — Rising Sweden-based, Australian-born singer-songwriter Hazlett has announced his highly anticipated forthcoming album, last night you said you missed me, out September 12 via Nettwerk. Alongside this announcement, Hazlett has unveiled his lead single “tell me something.” It’s a raw and evocative exploration of heartbreak and acceptance. The song delves into the lingering emotions after the end of a deep connection, set against Hazlett’s signature blend of delicate instrumentation and soulful lyricism.

Speaking about the single, Hazlett shares:

"If you’re lucky enough to find someone to throw your whole self into, nobody warns you about the untangling that happens if it ends. The daily things you leaned on them for are no longer around and it feels like the pillow’s missing from under your head. There comes a time when I think holding on isn’t doing anyone any favors. That doesn’t mean those feelings need to turn into anger or disdain, but you might have to swallow that bitter pill that what once was might never be again—and that’s okay. Keep the fond memories, keep the good times, but turn the engine over and see where the road trip to moving on takes you."

Blending introspection with cinematic melodies, Hazlett is a master of crafting songs that connect on a deeply human level. His critically acclaimed debut album 2023’s Bloom Mountain established him as an artist to watch, and his forthcoming effort, last night you said you missed me, shall further solidify his place as one of today’s most compelling storytellers. Earlier 2025 singles, doing my best and blue jean offered a glimpse into Hazlett’s evolving artistry and emotional depth that continues to impress with each release.

Regarding his forthcoming album, last night you said you missed me, Hazlett divulges:

“It’s a little different, which I know is cliche to say, but it’s true. I think it would be easier to say after all these years that I’ve found my sound and that’s where I’ll stay. But I think there’s a lack of authenticity in staying the same. When I started this whole thing I wanted anyone who starts to listen to feel like they’re part of this whole thing with me. Growing, trying and finding pieces of ourselves along the way.”

Hazlett has a summer packed with North America and European festival appearances, including stops at Outside Festival (Denver, CO), Bourbon and Beyond (Louisville, KY), Iron Blossom Music Festival (Richmond, VA), All Things Go (Columbia, MD), Golden Leaves Festival (Darmstadt, Germany), Langs Akerselva (Oslo, Norway), and BST Hyde Park (London, UK) where he will support Noah Kahan. In September, he’ll be supporting Vance Joy with four amphitheater dates. You can purchase tickets at https://www.thisishazlett.com/tour.

About Hazlett:

Based in Sweden since 2019, Hazlett has been able to amass a solid fanbase throughout the years with over a quarter billion streams, 116K+ TikTok followers, an abundance of Spotify editorial placements including, New Music Friday, Acoustic Chill, Autumn Acoustics, Fresh Folk, Folk & Friends, Roots Rising, You’re Favorite Coffeehouse, Coffee + Chill, Café Croissant, and several TV syncs on shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, The Good Doctor, and more. However, the musical path hasn’t always been linear for the Australian folk dynamo – from being a bass player in a band in Germany to completely quitting music while making the move back to Australia. Needing to pay the bills while starting a new life interning at an advertising agency, Hazlett started to perform in local pubs. This is where his old music publisher found out about his singing abilities and introduced him to now longtime collaborator Freddy Alexander, a turning point that reignited his passion for music and set him on the path to success.

The last two years have been eventful for Hazlett, as he released his 2023 debut album Bloom Mountain to positive support from the likes of The Line of Best Fit and Atwood Magazine, having previously received acclaim from CLASH, NME, and more. Going on to support Wild Rivers and Josiah & The Bonnevilles across the UK and Europe, he ended the year by releasing the EP, Goodbye to the Valley Low.

2024 proved to be a monumental one for Hazlett – releasing a Side B EP to Goodbye to the Valley Low and having opened shows for LANY, Calum Scott, Passenger, Ocie Elliott, John Vincent III as well as his very first North American headline tour. Both EPs, later bundled as one full project, were made in an off-grid cabin on the west coast of Sweden and sees Hazlett going back to his roots with a more stripped-back and rawer sound. With Goodbye to the Valley Low, Hazlett continued to push the boundaries of his artistry and deliver a truly unforgettable musical experience.

Hazlett returned in early 2025 with a 21-date sold out North American tour and has been steadily working on his next full-length record.
