Hell Hotel release new single “promises”

Brighton emo/alternative duo Hell Hotel have released their new single “promises.”, a song that delves into the painful moment when someone recognises their relationship is harmful, and the struggle to walk away despite the heartache. The release of “promises.” follows a huge summer for the band, which saw them tear through standout festival appearances at Burn It Down Festival in Torquay and No Play Festival in Liverpool, sharing the stage with heavyweights including Desolated and Mouth Culture.

Speaking about the new single, Tom shares: “promises. is collectively our favourite Hell Hotel song to date. It truly captures all the elements we take inspiration from such as early 2000s emo and contemporary post-hardcore, blends it all up, and wraps it neatly into the most heartbreaking moment in our discography. ‘Nightmares are dreams too’ is a concept that truly underpins all the music we’ve released so far this year - you can’t have the light without the darkness.”

Demi adds: “This song is where I bare my soul more than ever before, laying it all on the line and letting my heart speak without filter or fear. It holds a kind of raw, unfiltered emotion that we’re both deeply proud of. I hope it invites listeners to sit with their feelings, to explore the depths of who they are, and to reflect on how far they’ve come.”

Formed in Brighton and rooted in the emotional chaos of early 2000s emo, Hell Hotel fuse the influence of bands like The Used, Taking Back Sunday, and My Chemical Romance with the modern bite of acts like Holding Absence, forging a sound that is at once nostalgic and defiantly current. With airplay on BBC Radio 1 Introducing Rock courtesy of Alyx Holcombe, regional support from BBC Introducing Sussex & Surrey, and growing attention from outlets including Rock Sound, their emotionally charged discography has found a loyal following among those seeking a more vulnerable edge in modern heavy music. Previous singles such as “mirrors.”, “every broken part.”, and “chandelier.” have all contributed to the band’s reputation as one of the most compelling new voices in UK emo.

Hell Hotel have also performed at key UK venues such as The Garage, Scala, and The Underworld, and have shared stages with artists like Dreamstate, Kid Brunswick, The Hara, and Tropic Gold. With their live presence becoming as vital as their recorded work, and with “promises.” now out in the world, Hell Hotel have cemented themselves as one of the UK’s powerful new voices.
