Introducing the new EP from award-winning gothic blues duo Saint Senara - out June 27th
Award-winning singer-songwriter duo Andrew Bate & Chloe Gorman
With music that spans dirty blues rock, sweeping Americana to delicate folk songs with dark twists, Saint Senara have received widespread critical acclaim for their sophisticated songwriting, unique, genre-defying sound and the ability to put on an impressive live show with just two people, a guitar and a tambourine.
Now, following their award-nominated Under My Skin EP, Saint Senara are preparing to release Dark Water EP on 27 June 2025 — a southern gothic epic that delves deeper into stormy emotional territory, shadowy depths and vast sonic landscapes. The band embraced experimental textures in the studio, incorporating everything from whips and chains to rootsy stomps for percussion. Across the record, Andrew Bate’s driving Gretsch tones and eerie Ebow textures combine with ethereal dual vocals to build a cinematic sound world.
The EP, recorded at White Noise Studios in Weston-super-Mare with rising producer Lex Raymond, includes previously released singles There’s A Storm Coming, Ophelia and Lost Lisa Marie, alongside two exclusive live versions.
The new songs mark a darker, moodier evolution for the duo, described by early listeners as “a contemplative, atmospheric masterpiece,” “a highlight in modern folk,” and “a masterful blend of blues rock, Americana and haunting experimental elements.”
