Introducing….Hannah Strumner

Today, Click Roll Boom catches up with LA-based 21 year old country-pop songstress Hannah Strumner to talk about her forthcoming new single “White Sneakers’ and get the low down on where songwriting inspiration comes from and who inspires her sound.

Who is Hannah Strumner? What makes you tick? What inspires you?

Hannah Strumner, who is me, is a songwriter-singer who has been writing music since a young age. I have been writing since I was about 5 years old.  I usually get inspired by a lot of life situations of things that happen to me or even happen to others. I love writing them into a song.

Describe your sound in 5 words?

I would say my sound is eclectic, variety, storytelling, original, and unique.

Who would you cite as your biggest influences?

A lot of artists inspired me! I did get very inspired by an artist named Billy Joel who does a lot of storytelling in his music.

Where does your inspiration come from when writing songs?

Usually, my songs are inspired by life events or even hearing stories from friends. I write my ideas on a note-pad or record it through voice memos on my phone! It is so easy to forget an idea, so it is always very important to write it down.

Have you ever suffered from stage fright, if so how do you overcome it?

I have been able to overcome stage fright best by thinking of the outcome, and making people happy! Realizing that not everyone is going to enjoy your song but not to take it personally is very important. Realize how everyone has a song that they skip or don't listen to, but that does not mean in any way you should stop pursuing your passion for performing.

What’s the strangest thing a fan has ever asked you?
I don't think that it is strange, but I think this is really funny.

They asked me what my most interesting food choice was which

I answered, more parmesan cheese on my pasta, or parmesan with a side of pasta, haha!

Who would be on your dream festival line-up?

Wow, it would be so cool to have Billy Joel! I would love to learn even more from not only his writing, but the way that he performs. It would be real neat to have the beach boys as well since they are one of my all-time favorite bands.

What are you working on at the moment? What does the future hold for you?

I am working on new music as we speak, and I am so excited for future releases from singles to albums, all are extremely exciting and I am looking forward to people hearing more!

For fun, would you rather:

Play live or record an album?

I love playing live, but I think I would rather record an album. Or maybe I can play live while recording the audio and that could be it's own album!

Go on tour or play a big festival?

Going on tour is a huge dream of mine! It would be fun to not only meet listeners but get to see the different locations which I tour too.

Designer trainers or thrift store bargains?
Thrift store bargains all the way! I have gotten incredible deals at thrift stores and each item has a story to tell.

Lastly, shamelessly plug your latest album/single….

My single "White Sneakers" comes out on July 8th, 2023. My album "Hannah Strumner," which was a debut album, came out last year of 2022 on the 16th of July. As you can tell, July is a great month!
