Jim Eannelli Steps Into the Spotlight with Debut Solo Album “Just Deserts”
Milwaukee’s own Jim Eannelli is set to release his debut solo album Just Deserts on September 27, 2024, available in both digital and physical formats via Happy Growl Records.
A seasoned producer and multi-instrumentalist, Eannelli has spent decades moving fluidly between genres—from hard rock to synth-pop—building a formidable résumé as a supporting player. He collaborated with Rick Derringer on the Colour Radio album, recorded with Sam Llanas (formerly of the BoDeans), and performed with cult power-pop outfit The Shivvers, whose long-overdue recognition has only grown in recent years.
With Just Deserts, Eannelli finally takes centre stage, drawing on a vault of original songs crafted throughout his career. The album is steeped in both personal reflection and stylistic diversity, shaped by his many years across Milwaukee’s music scene.
It opens with the raw, rockabilly-tinged “29 Women,” a bristling anti-war track driven by punk energy and a biting guitar solo. From there, he shifts into the plaintive ballad “Where I’ve Been,” and continues to explore a broad sonic palette—ranging from the brooding blues of “Train from Chicago” to the jangly, Beatles-esque shimmer of “Waitin’,” and the expansive Americana anthem “Christine.”
Eannelli’s production captures the emotional core of each track, while his lyrics cut deep—chronicling heartbreak, displacement, spiritual longing, and sudden moments of clarity.
Just Deserts will be available on major streaming platforms and for digital download, with CDs stocked at local record stores and online via eBay.com. For updates, visit facebook.com/JimEannelli.
