Indie newcomer Joshua Scarratt returns with brand new single ‘Freedom From Care’, out today (October 27th).
Marking the first slice of new material since debut EP ‘Riding through the desert of my dreams’ released last summer, the rising singer-songwriter also announces details of a headline show at The Waiting Room, London on 19th February 2026, with more TBA soon.
Showcasing Scarratt's lyrical ability and strong sensibility of songwriting in full flow, the single arrives ahead of more new material set to arrive in early 2026.
Talking about his latest offering Scarratt says: "‘Freedom From Care’ is about being naive. Such a strong sense and desire for something else, someone else; anything but me. It’s being in such a fantasy of everything going your way, feeling like you’re seconds away from that next dopamine hit, then one message sends the world you’ve built (in only your head) burning to the ground.”
Having received high praise on his debut release, including support from HERO Mag, Louder Than War and Northern Transmissions and airplay on Apple Music (Matt Wilkinson) and Radio X (John Kennedy), Scarratt is currently finishing up plans for his second EP due next year.
