Laura Loriga Releases “Moon Talk” EP
Laura Loriga is an Italian songwriter whose work over the past decade has evolved between New York and London. Her writing is based on piano, organ, and voice, often enriched by both acoustic and electric elements. The result is a series of compositions that blend dark, textured soundscapes with elements of folk and experimental music.
In 2022, she released Vever — her fourth studio album and the first under her own name — written in New York between 2018 and 2020 and released via God Unknown Records / Ears & Eyes Records. The album features, among others, contributions from Josh Werner, Otto Hauser, Anni Rossi, and Janis Brenner.
Beyond her solo work, Loriga has collaborated with a range of artists, including Italian post-rock band Giardini di Mirò and songwriters Jaye Bartell and Grimm Grimm. She has also composed for film, contributing to soundtracks such as Shelter, Farewell to Heaven, Lucus a Lucendo: A Political Portrait of Carlo Levi (Caucasus Factory), and Mindcage (Lionsgate).
Currently, Loriga is working on her next full-length album, Almas, scheduled for release in Spring 2026. Ahead of the album, she will be releasing the EP Moon Talk, featuring two tracks from Almas — “Atlas” and “Saint Sylvester” — alongside an intimate outtake, “May You.” Written between 2024 and 2025 in London, the three pieces are bound by a unifying idea: the compossibility of things — moments, places, and people overlapping, coexisting, and ultimately connecting through the act of reconstruction.
Atlas draws inspiration from Nabokov’s short story Christmas, a meditation on memory and transformation.
Saint Sylvester offers a wish to someone poised to begin an unexpected new life.
May You reflects on roots, belonging, and the choices that shape where we go next.
Recorded between London and New York, the sessions were engineered and mixed by Euan Hinshelwood at Vacant Studios, London (Dec 2024 / May 2025).
The EP’s evocative textures are enriched by a cast of musicians:
Atlas: Ofir Ganon (guitar), Andrea Giommi (synth)
Saint Sylvester: Euan Hinshelwood (bass), Stefano Michelotti (chalumeau)
May You: David John Morris (guitar)
Laura Loriga’s music inhabits a world where folk tradition, minimalism, and cinematic ambience meet — a space both intimate and expansive. Moon Talk invites listeners into that world, one where the past and present converse freely, and where every note feels like a fragment of a larger, unfolding story.
Moon Talk will be available on digital platforms via God Unknown Records from 26th September 2025.
