LIVE REVIEW & GALLERY: Bad Touch @ Waterfront Studio, Norwich

Upon arriving at the Waterfront, despite the earlier start time, there was a decent amount of people queuing, but security were able to get people in quite swiftly.

Electric Black

Kicking off the night was Electric Black a High Voltage, Hard Rock band from Hitchin.  Despite them being the starting act, they were absolutely brilliant with excellent stage presence.  It wasn’t long before everyone got into the swing of things and enjoyed the great sound from this band.  The vocals from Jonny Bryant were outstanding, not to mention the sheer talent from all the band members.  If you are fans of Black Stone Cherry, then you will love these guys.

The Karma Effect

Next up was London based band The Karma Effect.  Now despite this band only forming in 2020, they owned the stage with pure energy and the great Dirty Rock sound.  They started off their set with “All Night Long”, a powerful hard rock track, showcasing that sound that every Rocker loves.  With Henry on vocals and the other band members putting in a highly energetic performance.  The stand out track for me was “Livin’ It Up”, with Southern Rifts that will blow your mind.  I have heard Karma Effect on Planet Rock a few times in the past, and while they only played 7 songs, everyone in the venue loved their performance.

Bad Touch

Finally the moment has arrived for the headline act and hometown heroes, Bad Touch to arrive on the stage. From the moment you heard a mashup of AC/DC and The Bee Gees as their introduction, you just knew that this band was going to be special. Bad Touch kicked off their set with “Bittersweet Satisfaction” which also happens to be the title of their brilliant new album,  with the heavy rock sound, the crowd was in full force.  Among their 14 track set, was “I Get High” and the brilliant “Slip Away” which has catchy heavy riffs and a chorus that everyone can sing along to, and blow the roof off the venue.  Bad Touch also put their own spin on Alanis Morissette’s “Hand In My Pocket”, which had the whole venue singing along.  Throughout their performance, the vocals from Stevie Westwood were off the charts, not to mention the sheer talent from every member of the band.  After a high energetic performance, Stevie came back on stage for an Encore with an Acoustic track which ended the night nicely.

Overall it was an amazing night with all 3 bands, worthy of bigger gigs and festivals.  I would love to see all 3 bands again, with maybe even the support acts, headlining gigs.
