LIVE REVIEW & GALLERY: Lacuna Coil @ Epic Studios, Norwich
Lacuna Coil (Sleepless Empire Tour) with support from Nonpoint at Epic Studios Norwich. 23rd November 2025
I arrived at the venue to be greeted with a queue like no other, I just knew that this was going to be a gig to remember. So much credit to security and staff for getting people in promptly. Upon asking the staff, they clarified that the venue was going to be at full capacity. Upon making my way to the photographers’ area, I could just feel the energy from the crowd, and that was even before Nonpoint started their set.
Nonpoint then entered the stage and started their set with the absolutely brilliant “Breaking Skin” & “What a Day”. Every track played, some of which had unapologetic lyrics which suited their brilliantly played music perfectly. It felt like they were taking on the energy from the crowd and then giving the energy back. Never before have I seen such an energetic band on stage. Close to the end of the performance they blasted out their famous cover of “In the Air Tonight”. There are very few covers that are done right in a different style, and it’s safe to say that Nonpoint totally nailed this, to the point that everyone including myself was singing along without missing a single beat. Nonpoint finished their 11-song set with “Alive & Kicking”, and the banging “Bullet With a Name”, both of which took me back to gaming days from almost 20 years ago. Nonpoint’s energetic performance left the crowd wanting more, every song was performed brilliantly, and the entire set was worthy of a headline band.

Lacuna Coil
After a short break and set change, Lacuna Coil entered the stage, with an already hyped crowd becoming even more hyped. This was the act which over 800 people had waited for on a Sunday night. Lacuna Coil started their set with “Layers of Time” & “Reckless”. With a full force crowd, you just knew that the set was going to get better and better. After a few songs Lacuna Coil belted out the brilliant “Spellbound”. Now while I absolutely adore symphonic metal, years ago “Spellbound” was the song that first got me into Lacuna Coil and made me wish I had gotten into them years previously. Since then they have become one of my favourite bands of all time. Lacuna Coil continued their set with tracks like “Intoxicated” & “Gravity”, as well as songs they have made throughout the years. Every song performed was pitch perfect. After a set of 15 songs, they left the stage with the crowd wanting more, you just knew that an encore was coming. Within a few minutes, Lacuna Coil re-entered the stage for a 4-song encore which included their latest track “I Wish You Were Dead” from their brilliant album “Sleepless Empire”.
When it comes to the perfect combination of voices, you don’t get better than the mix of powerful heavenly symphonic tone from Cristina Scabbia that sends a pleasurable tingle down your spine with every note held & the dark gothic metal tone from Andrea Ferro. I could easily spend a day binging on albums from Lacuna Coil, and still be left wanting more. Every song made you feel like you were part of the song. As Cristina said, everyone in the room was like an extended part of her family, and with the performance they put on and how she spoke to the audience, it was easy to feel like we were part of an extended family.
