ABOUT 'Circle Jerk Of Sadness'
C.J.O.S (Circle Jerk of Sadness) is the chaotic sequel to Blair!, following its vapid protagonist into a surreal post-apocalyptic wasteland. Blending spoken word, chaotic punk energy, and theatrical soundscapes, Industry Standard explore climate collapse, dread, and dissociation — a warped part two where the mall has crumbled, but the existential dread remains.
“The track plays with humour and chaos but it’s rooted in something real. It’s a panic attack disguised as a joke. It’s about climate collapse, burnout, and watching it all happen with a milkshake in hand,” says Gaby (Lead Vocals/Songwriter)

Industry Standard are a London based four piece of unyielding outliers. Part punk show, part relentless carnival, their Cuban American figurehead displays the fearless charisma of an unhinged gameshow host while leading an explosion of sound and imagery to a backdrop of 'Wonky Tonk Swamp Pop™'. Discordant riffs warp with disco and country rhythms. Immersive storytelling, DIY costumes and theatrics (including a rewired telephone mic) suck you into an uncanny world. This cartoon-like spectacle is as joy filled as it is unsettling, when the seemingly comedic abruptly gives way to something intimate and raw. They have played sold out shows supporting Warmduscher and Shelf Lives and are currently writing their debut album.
