Today, crunchy-pop innovators, Lucky Iris, share their new single ‘i just want to dance’ via EMI North Records label partner Launchpad+
Marking their first release since the day to night EP earlier this year, ‘i just want to dance’ finds producer duo Maeve and Jasper building on their signature blend of sugary-sweet vocal hooks that cut into titanic bass hits, creating a euphoric homage to club culture and the wide-eyed exhilaration of discovering the dancefloor for the first time.

“It was important for the new era of Lucky Iris to start with an exploration into what first got us into electronic pop music,” tells Maeve. “As soon as I was old enough to even try and get into a club, all I wanted to do was go out dancing. It was my first taste of freedom which was so special to me - the first time, the music that got me there, and the rush of going out has always stayed with me.”
For Lucky Iris, music isn’t merely something they create, but a lens through which they understand and express themselves. Since forming in Leeds during lockdown, the self-taught producer duo has continually experimented across sounds and styles, consistently refining and reintroducing new layers to the Lucky Iris universe.
This latest evolution sees the band collaborate with esteemed mixing engineer Richard Wilkinson (Adele, Kaiser Chiefs) on their new track and acclaimed visual artist and photographer Aran Llewelyn Harris (Dazed, i-D, The Face) on the accompanying visuals. The result is the duo’s most authentic work to date: a confident stride into their next era, rooted in instinct and honesty.
Released earlier in 2025 under Universal Production Music’s Focus label, day to night catapulted Lucky Iris onto the radar of key tastemakers, earning them support from BBC Radio 1, BBC Introducing, Rolling Stone UK, DIY Magazine, and many more. In the months following, the pair have been solidifying their presence within the alternative pop landscape, featuring on lineups alongside future-facing artists including Lynks, Master Peace, Dorian Electra, Hannah Diamond, Bimini, and Jessica Winter - experiences they credit with shaping the trajectory of their latest work.
Lucky Iris are prepared to make 2025 their most defining year to date. With a steadfast commitment to crafting music that resonates as deeply with their listeners as it does with themselves, Yorkshire’s leading hyperpop duo are poised for a breakout moment, and ‘i just want to dance’ is just the beginning.
