Maisi shares new single ‘try’ as part of a four track ep - ‘u could be something’

Maisi is a genre-blurring alt-pop artist, producer, and DJ, known for her fusion of electro-pop, indie-pop, and hyperpop. Taking cues from the likes of Charli XCX, Caroline Polachek, MARINA, and The 1975, her sound pairs glossy, forward-thinking production with raw, introspective lyricism. As a distinct voice of her generation, Maisi captures the chaos, humour and anxiety of being in your twenties, making music that is as self-aware and emotionally charged as it is danceable.

Maisi’s latest single ‘try’ is a slower and vulnerable track about self-sabotage, untapped potential, and the quiet wish for someone you love to finally believe in themselves.

Maisi describes her sound as “existential angst pop. ‘try’ captures that spirit completely. It is vulnerable and intimate, yet carries a spark of optimism that lingers long after the track ends. The song connects with a generation more open about mental health than ever before, where phrases like “bed rotting” appear across social media and the struggle to keep moving feels deeply personal but universally shared.

What Maisi says about the project:

“This is a really special project and song to me. ‘try’ is a song inspired by people in my life who I know could be brilliant but hold themselves back. It’s an ode to their lost potential and a plea to them to keep trying. The EP as a whole feels the most me project I’ve ever made, it is honest and is exactly how I felt at the time of writing. I struggle a lot with existential feelings and often find myself overthinking the most simple of things, and i think that sums up the EP pretty well.”

Maisi has had an exciting year on the live circuit. Having already supported artists including Chinchilla, Michael Aldag, and piri & tommy, she’s set to join Mae Muller in the week leading up to her release, followed by dates with Sophie and the Giants shortly after. Quickly establishing herself as a standout presence on the London and UK live scene, Maisi’s dynamic performances at showcase nights such as Abbie McCarthy’s Good Karma Club and Honour Morrison’s Good Vibes Only have firmly marked her as one to watch.

Beyond the studio and the stage, Maisi is the creator of The Cxnty School Disco, a chaotic, nostalgia-fuelled club night celebrating 2000s bangers, hyperpop and indie sleaze. Since its launch, the event has sold out every time and even took over a stage at Truck Festival, where the tent filled to capacity with crowds queuing outside to get in. She’s throwing a Cxnty School Disco party on the 10th of October to celebrate the release of ‘try’ and the ‘u could be something’ EP. Maisi is also the co-founder of LOUD LDN, a community for women and non-binary artists reshaping the London music scene.
