NATIVE SUN share brand new single 'Adam'
“Ferocious melodies…Native Sun want to rattle you to your core” The FADER
“Brooklyn’s Native Sun makes punk for the people. The band’s relentless and defiant punk is as ferocious and urgent as it is hopeful” Nylon
“A nod to classic rock n’ roll” So Young Magazine
“Full of defiant attitude, thoughtfully crafted twists and turns, and an urgency that compels you to get up and do something” DIY Magazine
NYC rock n’ roll outfit Native Sun deliver pulsating new effort ‘Adam’ (video here), out today (August 12th), marking the fourth reveal from forthcoming debut album ‘Concrete Language’ (pre-order here), set for release September 19th via TODO.
Arriving ahead of a mammoth UK and European headline tour this autumn, and preceded by a US tour alongside Bass Drum Of Death, Native Sun’s thrilling concoction of garage rock and art rock has already won plaudits for lead singles ‘I Need Nothing’, ‘Squash’ and ‘No’, with their explosive energy and irresistible licks showcased in full force throughout their frenetic new offering.
Fronted by Colombian-born Danny Gomez (vox/guitar) alongside Justin Barry (bass/vox), Jack Hiltabidle (guitar), and Argentine-born Nicolas Espinosa (drums), Native Sun is celebrated for their visceral, untamed live shows and Gomez’s socially-charged lyrics that confront reality head-on - channeling disillusionment into action and lovingly documenting the lives of society’s misfits and marginalized.
With a DIY ethos and a devoted following, Native Sun are ready to build on early plaudits throughout the UK and US press landscape (Brooklyn Vegan, DIY, Dork, The Line Of Best Fit, So Young, FLOOD Magazine, NYLON, Paste, Rolling Stone), whilst on the live front, the four-piece have already played alongside the likes of A Place To Bury Strangers, Bodega, Geese, Indigo de Souza and Nation of Language.
Speaking ahead of their debut LP reveal, the band explained: “‘Adam’ is a song about friendship in a city that never slows down. People come and go, but the memories stick. It’s inspired by one surreal night riding through New York, chasing something we couldn’t name.”
Produced and mixed by Jonathan Schenke (Parquet Courts, Snail Mail, Bodega, The Drums) and mastered by Joe LaPorta (David Bowie, IDLES, Vampire Weekend, Run The Jewels), Native Sun’s ‘Adam’ is out now via TODO and available on all digital platforms.
Native Sun is Danny Gomez (singer/guitarist), Jack Hiltabidle (guitarist), Justin Barry (bassist), Nico Espinosa (drummer)
