New Irish Music: Debut Single From PRINCE REGENT
The debut single from Prince Regent is a statement of intent, characterised by classic rock n roll sensibilities and a healthy dose of harmonica.
FFO: Tom Petty | Electric Light Orchestra | The Travelling Willburys
Born out of a desire to reconnect with the joy of original music, Prince Regent emerged in the late summer of 2024.
Fronted by Ben Cutler, the project began as a two-piece collaboration with Newry-based guitarist Conal Morgan, whom Cutler hails as one of the finest young guitarists on the island.
The duo’s early sessions quickly evolved into something bigger. The line-up found its full voice with the addition of Matt Nolan and Shea McCrea, completing a four-piece band whose sound is deeply rooted in classic rock n roll traditions.
With sonic influences ranging from Electric Light Orchestra and Tom Petty to The Traveling Wilburys, Prince Regent blends rich melodies and vintage textures into a fresh, yet familiar musical identity.
Their work reflects a deep respect for rock n roll’s golden age while offering a modern, heartfelt take on storytelling through sound.

Prince Regent’s debut single “Nature of the Game” was recorded & produced by Darragh Tibbs (Pillow Queens, VERA, Esmeralda Road) in Analogue Catalogue Studios.
It offers up a fresh twist on the classic rock n roll sounds many listeners grew up with, offering both familiarity and forward momentum.
Written from a place of personal reckoning, “Nature of the Game” explores the realisation that things don’t always go the way we hope—but that time is fleeting, and waiting around isn’t an option.
Seize the moment while you can!
