Norfolk Singer/Songwriter Paul Thompson release single ‘The Clocks Went Back’

What is the true nature of time? Is it a mere human construct regulating our tiny existence, or a wondrous thing evolving across the fathomless depths of space? Consider the Universe, expanding at a rate of 73.5 kilometres per second (there are no miles in space). When you turn your time-device back by one hour, our cosmic home will grow by 264,600 kilometres in the void.

In association with Einstein, singer-songwriter Paul Thompson is attempting a thought experiment that will time-travel his latest single The Clocks Went Back by one hour. As the song goes live at 2am BST (BS Time) on Sunday 26th October 2025, and time returns to a construct known as GMT (Greenwich Meaningless Time), The Clocks Went Back will become the first single in the history of humankind to time-travel its release date.

Or will it? Perhaps it will become stuck in a time-loop of never-ending release, available only in a one-hour time-glass forever slipping through our grasp. Perhaps as you listen on the airwaves, you turn your gaze to the stars and consider your place in the Universe; this ever-present moment that creates an opportunity for wonder and liberation of our souls, minds and hearts from the tyranny of time.
