NPR + Billboard Acclaimed Rock Artist Casii Stephan New Single
Produced by Chad Copelin (Colony House, Strumbellas, Broncho), "King in America" is a hard-hitting and explosive rock-drenched protest song against the perils of fascism and the current American President. Casii shares, "I'm mad. I was raised to believe in God's divine plan for America. That the monarchy was never meant for us. And now... they want a monarchy. They want to threaten my trans friends' lives and make them unwelcome in Oklahoma. They want to deport people who are near and dear to my family. They want to pick on the minority. Well, pick on me. I'm the majority. We're the majority. And if they think this country will go down without a fight? Darlings. We already won this war. I guess it's time to remember who we are. The home of the brave and the land of the free."
Casii Stephan has received acclaim from the likes of Billboard, NPR, and SPIN among others and has performed at SXSW and is signed to TRO Essex (Woody Guthrie, The Who, Pink Floyd).

Minnesota gave her roots, and Tulsa gave her wings. Casii Stephan is an MN-born, indie-pop meets soul-rock singer-songwriter based in Tulsa, OK.
Casii’s “gorgeously emotive voice inspires comparisons to alt-pop artists like Florence Welch and Fiona Apple with a writing style reminiscent of Carole King” (NPR).
Stephan’s voice is fierce and fearless, but this was not always the case. She grew up shy and afraid of her voice until she started writing songs on the family piano when she was 16. Casii moved to Tulsa in 2014 with the intent to give up her pursuit of a music career, however with a little encouragement from a friend, she continued songwriting and started releasing music in 2016.
Since then, Casii has received national songwriting awards, toured regionally and internationally, performed official SXSW and Folk Alliance showcases, performed in NYC at A2IM, performed at the virtual Sundance Film Festival, and profiled on platforms such as Billboard, NPR, SPIN, and American Songwriter. She recently returned from her first international tour with stops in Ireland and the UK. In Jan 2025, she was an official showcase artist at the “Your Roots are Showing” international music conference. She then returned to London to perform an official SXSW showcase in June.
Casii writes her songs honestly, from the depths of her emotions, with wide ranging themes including death and life, love and loss, and often pushing back on negative societal norms like sexism, ageism and “playing nice” as a woman. She uses writing to deconstruct her own beliefs with an underlying hope that things can change, inviting listeners on their own journey.
Casii’s diverse songwriting catalog is with TRO Essex Music Publishing, who represents talented folk writers such as Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger, and iconic rock bands like The Who and Black Sabbath. Casii’s highly anticipated Relationship Status EP, produced by Ben Tanner (Alabama Shakes, St. Paul and the Broken Bones), was released in September 2024 on Shamus Records to rave reviews. “Each of these songs are great. Individually, they present a brilliant vocal and some very strong musical hooks, but when played together, ‘Relationship Status’ becomes bigger than the sum of its parts, with the songs representing a journey.” (Real Gone Rocks). Casii is currently in the studio writing and recording new songs. Her new single, a high-energy protest song,“King in America” is out now. The track is a hard-hitting and explosive rock-drenched protest song against the perils of fascism and the current administration. Casii shares, "I'm mad. They want to threaten my trans friends' lives and make them unwelcome in Oklahoma. They want to deport people who are near and dear to my family. They want to pick on the minority. Well, pick on me.
