Old Dirty Buzzard drops ‘One Foot in the Grave’—a prison-born howl of doom and betrayal

Hailing from the Hinterlands of the wet and gloomy Pacific Northwest, is a band equal parts Doom, Sludgy Blues, and Heavy Metal. With their new release entitled One Foot In The Grave, the Old Dirty Buzzard band is blazing a trail where Motörhead and Black Sabbath left off.

Starting out with Bag of Nails, a song written in prison by the bass player and singer Kurt Kilfelt (ex Holy Terror/Zeke), followed by a dirge titled Death Becomes Your Dying World, Old Dirty Buzzard is a band galvanized by decades of Rock and Roll fury. The follow-up to their debut What a Weird Hill to Die On (Rotten Records, 2023), what we have is the purest form of the Power Trio. Loud and uncompromising, drummer Ben Still and guitarist Ben Axeman punish the unsuspecting minds of a modern world with a throwback to better days when Rock and Roll was dangerous and unpredictable. With a nod to their heroes, there's a cover of The Hammer by Motörhead. Songs about betrayal and sin like Traitor to Your God highlight that while most bands attempt to relive their past, Old Dirty Buzzard is at the zenith of their career in Extreme Metal.
