Produced by Oasis / Stone Roses / Ash Producer and Raised Awareness for Men's Mental Health – It's The 355's 'Sometimes'

Brought together by a mutual love for 90’s guitar driven bangers and Northern Soul grooves, The 355’ is comprised of Adam Thompsett on Vocals and Guitars, Craig Lockwood on Vocals, Guitars &  Keyboards, Robert ‘Bert’ Hammond on Bass & Vocals and Mike Fitchie on Drums.

The band was first formed in 2023 when they independently released their debut EP; ‘Jig A Jig Out’ which shot straight to number 11 on the official U.K single charts.

Noel Gallagher reviewed 2 of the singles from the ‘Jig A Jig Out’ E.P on the Matt Morgan podcast, stating, ‘I bet they are f*cking awesome live’.

Having worked with producer Nick Brine (Oasis, The Stone Roses, Ash) on the first E.P, the lads returned to the studio with Nick in August 2024 to record more new music.

The latest single to be released by the band is the thought provoking ‘Sometimes’ which is being released in conjunction with The 8:56 Foundation hoping to raise awareness and funds and to further break the stigma surrounding men’s mental health.

The band have said of the new release:

“We are proud to collaborate with the 8.56 foundation, on our latest release ‘Sometimes’.

“Sometimes’, is all about realising you need help, and wanting to change”  (Bert - The 355’s).

This collaboration aims to shine a light on the emotional struggles men face and the importance of talking openly about mental health. #itstimetotalk”

And the 8:56 have further commented:

“The 8.56 charity is proud to collaborate with The 355’s on their upcoming release ‘Sometimes’, which powerfully highlights men’s mental health—an often overlooked but vital issue. Through raw lyrics, honest storytelling, and the universal language of music, the track encourages open conversations and emotional expression. This aligns with our mission to improve men’s mental health by raising awareness, increasing access to support, and reducing stigma. By encouraging men to talk and connect, we help combat loneliness and isolation. It’s Time to Talk—and this collaboration helps make that possible.”

Musically the track starts off with a very reflective vibe with clear, precise vocals cutting through the sounds of a gently strumming guitar. As the track progresses more instruments are introduced picking the pace and the overall tone of the track up a level turning it into a soaring ballad with tight percussion and orchestral sections.  What starts off as a gentle track quickly turns into something distinctly rousing and emotional in its delivery.

‘Sometimes’ was written by Adam Thompsett, Bert Hammond, Craig Lockwood and Mike Fitchie. It was recorded at FlipFlop HQ Studios and was produced and mixed by Nick Brine (Oasis, Stone Roses, Ash).
