Red Recluse release new single ‘Midnight Moses’ featuring Stu Art Gray and James McCann
Red Recluse LLC is excited to announce the release of “Midnight Moses”, the first single from their upcoming second album, Orange. The track is a fresh take on the Sensational Alex Harvey Band classic, featuring special guest appearances by Stu Art Gray of NYC's legendary Art Gray Noizz Quintet (aka Stu Spasm of Lubricated Goat) on lead guitar, and James McCann of the JJ McCann Transmission (Melbourne) on backing vocals.
The single is now available on all streaming services, and the Orange vinyl pre-order is available via the band’s Bandcamp page.
Based out of Indianapolis, IN, Red Recluse is an alternative rock project blending elements of indie rock, grunge, and what they affectionately call “Post-Butt Rock.” Their second album, Orange, is scheduled for release in late November, and the band is currently promoting singles while growing their presence across social media and streaming platforms.
Stu Art Gray is a notable figure in the global underground music scene, having grown up in Adelaide and formed Lubricated Goat in the mid-1980s. Their records, initially released on Black Eye Records (Sydney), were later licensed in the US by Amphetamine Reptile Records. Relocating to Seattle in the early ’90s, Lubricated Goat became a key influence on the grunge movement, impacting bands like Mudhoney and Nirvana. Stu has lived in NYC for the past 30 years, and a documentary on his life premiered in NYC last year, with screenings in Europe and Australia.
James McCann is a founding member of the Drones (Melbourne), two of whose members later formed Tropical Fuck Storm. He remains a central figure in the Melbourne music scene, releasing several acclaimed solo albums since 2004 on BANG! Records (Spain) and Beast Records (France).
