Rising Star Finn Forster Returns With Heartfelt Single ‘Pablo’
Hailing from Middlesbrough, rising star Finn Forster today releases his heartfelt yet anthemic single, Pablo, via Interval Records (EMI North). Showcasing Finn’s signature soulful and soaring vocals, Pablo was written by Finn as a tribute to his best friend, who he met at college.
The singer-songwriter has explained, “Pablo is written about my best mate from Iran. We grew up together and then when he was 21 years old, he went home to visit his family and wasn't able to return for almost 6 years. I thought he'd be away a couple of weeks and the song explores all of the emotions around not seeing my best mate for years, growing up and then us finally reconnecting once he got back. One day he literally just walked through my front door after 6 years, it was mad.” Listen here.
Pablo follows the release of his EP, Embers, which came out in May. Singles from the 4-track body of work have gone on to receive consistent support from the likes of BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 2, Radio X (for whom Finn will be recording a live session for) Amazing Radio and more, plus playlist inclusions from streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music. The Embers EP marked a brand new chapter for Finn, and revealed a new sound sonically.
Finn is currently on his almost sold out UK & Ireland headline tour! He kicked things off at The Globe in Cardiff on 10th November, and has been making his way around cities including Bristol and London for sold out shows plus two shows in Manchester, one of which was sold out. Finn will also play a hometown show at Middlesbrough’s Empire tomorrow night, and then will wrap things up in Dublin at the Sound House, on 18th November. Remaining tickets and dates can be found here. The Middlesbrough-born and bred artist supported Bastille in Nottingham at the Motorpoint Arena, before his own headline tour began.
Finn Forster played a show as part of the Mercury Prize Fringe last month, which took place in Newcastle and was the first time it’s taken place outside of London. Finn also supported pop royalty, JADE shortly before this at the BBC Proms which was also in Newcastle. He shared a dressing room with BBC Radio 1’s Greg James who was also hosting the evening. On stage following Finn’s performance, Greg said, “Can we just take a minute to appreciate the unreal vocals of Finn Forster?"
This Summer alone saw Finn support the mighty Stereophonics on their UK & European stadium tour, and also play festivals including Reading & Leeds and Kendal Calling. Check out Finn’s live performance of track, On My Mind at Reading Festival here. Finn has also revealed 3 live videos of him performing in Amsterdam on the Stereophonics tour, which can be seen here.
Finn recently received the coveted PPL Momentum Fund on behalf of the PRS Foundation, and joins the likes of alumni Little Simz, Sam Fender and more. He was also chosen as a Tees Valley Artist Of The Year, earning himself career-defining funding and support which in turn helps boost his region’s creative industries.
