SINGLE REVIEW: FatStalker - A.I. Generated Slop

FatStalker describe themselves as “a 3-piece band from Manchester with no real direction, ambition or standards.” And honestly, that chaotic, unfiltered ethos bleeds straight into 'A.I. Generated Slop', a track that throws everything at the wall—punk, electronica, dark wave, post-rock textures, grunge fuzz—and somehow makes it all stick.

It’s spiky, dense, and engulfing from the outset, opening with an electronic pulse that feels deliberately disorienting before crashing into full-throttle rebellion. The vocals come in off-kilter, but they’re perfect in their imperfections—frustrated, rebellious, carrying a raw, unpolished energy that makes the track feel alive.

Lyrically, the song takes aim at the deluge of misinformation that floods social media, pulling examples from the bizarre fake images people share as fact—like one of supposed rioters that, when examined closely, are actually dancers on an upside-down ceiling. The opening plea urges people to step away from that noise, to look around at their own reality and see that life feels better when it’s disconnected from online chaos. Then the chorus sharpens its focus on AI-generated art, skewering the growing trend of mass-produced creativity passed off as meaningful expression. It doesn’t hold back, making it clear—churning out computer-generated content doesn’t make someone an artist.

The track’s structure mirrors its message—chaotic, unpredictable, and dynamic. The tempo shifts, pulling back into a dark, art-rock haze before launching back into fierce punk energy. The instrumentation buzzes with distorted layers, jagged and angular, while a killer guitar solo cuts through, bringing another surge of drama.

It’s gritty, raw, and proudly DIY—bold in its delivery, infectious in its frustration. 'A.I. Generated Slop' doesn’t just critique the mess of modern digital culture—it embraces chaos in a way that feels both rebellious and entirely intentional.
