Slackrr: New album by the hard touring UK pop punk joint is literally a "Light On The Horizon"
Pop punk sensations SLACKRR announce their highly-anticipated fourth album, “A Light on the Horizon,” set for release on the 1st August, 2025 via SBAM Records. Recorded in ACO Studios with producer Adam Cox in between the band’s relentless touring schedule, “A Light on the Horizon” epitomises unreal, bone fide pop punk as described by BBC Radio One, with their high energy, emo-tinged and nostalgia-drenched anthems. Named as one of the most exciting new bands to hit the UK, SLACKRR are undoubtedly at the forefront of the latest wave of pop punk. The new album features the singles that were adored by fans and critics alike, including “Over & Over,” “Save Your Breath,” - featured on Spotify’s curated playlist ‘Pop Punk’s Not Dead’ - “Never Forget,” and “Better Days,” BBC Introducing’s Track of the Week and earning the title of Kerrang! Radio’s Featured Artist of the Week. These stations, amongst many others including a plethora of BBC radio stations, multiple Kerrang! Radio shows, TotalRock Radio, Primordial Radio, Reckless Press, and Idobi Radio [USA] to name just a few, praised the singles as huge summer anthems that bring hope, positivity and endless amounts of energy, that prove the band continue to go from strength to strength. With their previous releases paving the way for what was to come, having had singles featured on a SONY Playstation 5 video game, taking the band further afield to America and Europe as well as continued support from Kerrang!, BBC Radio, and Rock Sound Magazine, SLACKRR have established a loyal and evergrowing fanbase that spans across the world, with “A Light on the Horizon” set to be their strongest release to date.
“When it came to writing this album, we didn’t really think we were writing an album,” says frontman Scotty Perry. “We were just trying to write great songs that we loved and we hoped our fans and a wider audience would be into. Because it was written during our heavy touring schedule, everything was very of-the-moment and instant. It’s a very honest record. Dealing with everyday topics that people in our lives and everyday people have to deal with. It deals with a range of emotions from despair to hope, anger to joy, and finding something worth fighting for. But I guess the overriding theme is hope for the future and that things will get better, and remembering where you came from and whatever adversities you have overcome to get you to where you are today while maintaining a very fun and honest sound and message that feels like us and where we’re at right now.”
