  • Solitude Sometimes is releases ‘You Loved It’ out now!

  • First track from South London musician since 2023

  • Single is being released through South-East London label No Distance Records

South London musician Solitude Sometimes Is has released his first new music since 2023 with the high-energy ‘You Loved It’.

The tune recalls the glory days of 00s indie, with a thumping bass drum and spiky guitar lines echoing The Strokes and Bloc Party.

“This tune is my attempt at an indie disco tune I would have jumped around to at the Cookie Club in Nottingham in the 00s when I was a student. That era is now known as indie sleaze, but that time just reminds me of sweaty walls and a seemingly constant stream of brilliant new bands,” said singer Owen.

Solitude Sometimes Is’s debut album, ‘Float’, was released in 2023, and features an array of talented musicians including Elbow’s drummer Alex Reeves.

No Distance Records co-founder Alan Launder said: "It's taken him long enough but this tune from Solitude Sometimes Is was definitely worth the wait. I've heard the other stuff he's working on and this is just the beginning of what is going to be a brilliant set of songs. We can't wait to get them out into the world.
