Stella Lain Releases Highly Anticipated Debut EP ‘Stella’

The up-and-coming UK country superstar, Stella Lain, is set to release her highly anticipated debut EP ‘Stella’ on 17th October. This vibrant body of work encompasses exactly who she is as an artist - a celebration of authenticity, sparkle and soul. The blend of twinkling guitars, honeyed vocals and unapologetically feminine flare perfectly mirror her candy-floss pink, girly-girl persona.

Stepping into this era with her rhinestone boots planted firmly in the ground, Stella has already made waves with three standout singles that showcase her range and charm. Each track offers a glimpse into her world - where confidence meets vulnerability, and storytelling reigns. The final two tracks will be unveiled with the full EP, rounding out a collection that is equal parts empowering and heartfelt.

Drawing inspiration from country-pop icons like Carrie Underwood and a young Taylor Swift, she brings a fresh British twist to Nashville’s signature sound. With her playful yet poignant lyrics and shimmering vocals, she is full with charisma that is quickly making her one of the most exciting new voices in the UK country music scene.

Speaking on the EP, Stella said: “This EP is something I’ve been working so hard on creating. It’s a little taster and introduction to me as an artist, a welcome into my Pink World, showcasing the different sides of Country music that I love to write. Each song brings something different, both musically and emotionally. It’s a real mix of sub-genres and themes, with lyrics that come straight from my own experiences, with themes that I hope others can connect to as well. I was lucky enough to work with an incredible team of talented musicians on this project. My producer, Ariel Delgado, understood exactly what I wanted every single time, and recording in the studio with my vocal engineer, Edward Sargisson, was such a fun and inspiring experience.”

She further reveals: “The Problem” might just be my favourite track on the EP. The opening line, “Growing up is realising you can’t make somebody like you,” is such a powerful statement to me. I think a lot of people can relate. I’ve dealt with my fair share of unkind people, and as a bit of a pathological people-pleaser, I’ve had to learn that some people will never like you and that’s okay. Some people put others down to make themselves feel better, but that often comes from their own insecurities. If someone’s willing to waste their energy trying to hurt you, the problem really lies with them, not you. It took me a while to understand that, but now when someone goes out of their way to be mean, I just laugh it off and want to say “thank you for thinking about me, now stop it.”

As ‘Stella’ unfolds, each song tells a different side to Stella’s story - from glittering highs of young summer love to the quiet moments of self-reflection that follow. Together, the tracks weave a pink tapestry of emotion, honesty, and strength, revealing just how much heart lays behind the sparkle.

Opening the EP with a burst of sunshine, ‘Sun-kissed’ is an instant mood lifter, a twangy, upbeat anthem of summer romance. With its catchy hooks and glistening guitar lines, lyrics such as “we spelt our names in a heart we wrote in the sand” and “as we counted the stars, you reached for me hand” instantly draw you in with imagery of nostalgic summer memories being painted through music.

Playful, bold and packed with attitude, ‘Boy Bye’ follows to share a glimpse of Stella’s sassier side. This Carrier Underwood inspired piece is filled with cheeky lyrics and boot-stomping beats. It’s the soundtrack to every girl who’s ever laughed off heartbreak and strut into the room in rhinestones and red lipstick - the kind of track that makes you want to roll down your windows, crank up the volume and sing like you’ve just reclaimed your power. Lyrically, this tongue-in-cheek track is a wink and a hair flip to anyone that ever underestimated her. With lines like “He’s gasoline and he’s going up in flames / sugar sweet with a bitter taste” scream with empowerment and girl boss energy.

Riding off the newly found empowerment in ‘Boy Bye’, ‘Country Girl’ themes itself around abstract ideas of identity and femininity. This track is a declaration of self-love and confidence - a reminder that she has found her voice, her sound and her place in the ever-growing country scene. About the song, Stella says: “The hook ‘Maybe from a different part of the world / But I’m still a Country Girl’ was the first part of the song I wrote. It was inspired by feeling like an outsider in the genre, being from the UK, but knowing that I still belong. After someone told me I was ‘too Barbie’ to like Country music, I decided to fully lean in and embrace being a Country Barbie! This song is about celebrating unapologetic femininity. It’s all about having fun, being yourself and being confident. To not allow others to tell you what you can or can’t do, break outside the box and show the world what you’ve got.”.

The penultimate track, ‘The Problem’, leans into the heartfelt storytelling of early Taylor Swift, pairing gentle guitar melodies with lyrics that radiate vulnerability and growth. This track slows things down with tender vocals and introspective lyricism. It’s a soft, country-pop confession that peels back the glitter to reveal a moment of vulnerability - reminding listeners that even the most confident cowgirl has her quiet days.

Rich in emotion and deeply personal, ‘The Problem’ serves as the emotional centre piece of the EP - a moment of true honesty that feels both intimate and universal. Through its reflective verses and soaring chorus, ‘The Problem’ delivers a love letter to herself, reminding listeners that self-acceptance is a journey worth celebrating. It’s an anthem for anyone who’s ever felt the weight of other people’s opinions, and a gentle declaration that confidence begins the moment you stop trying to please everyone else.

Stella closes out the EP with ‘Go!’, a country-pop slow-burn that captures the moment you finally let go of someone who never saw your worth. The piece opens with a quiet reflection, filled with soft guitars and gentle vocals laying bare the ache of reminiscing a lost love, before gradually building into something brighter, bolder and full of movement. As the track unfolds, the rhythm picks up like a second wind, mirroring the shift from sadness to clarity. Stella’s vocals glide effortlessly between a place of tenderness and conviction. It’s less a breakup anthem and more of a turning point - a sonic sigh of relief that comes when you stop chasing someone who was never prepared to meet you half way. ‘Go!’ brings the EP to a close on a note of calm confidence - not triumphant, but content, like the quiet after a storm.

As she gears up for the final release, Stella Lain proves that there is more than one way to be a Country artist - and she’s doing it her way: pink, powerful, and proudly herself.
