Washington D.C.’s rising folk-rock collective Stephen Sol & The 7 have released their highly anticipated debut EP, Sunshine Wine. Blending psychedelic folk-rock with alternative grit and a soulful touch, the nine-piece ensemble delivers a record that feels as warm and intoxicating as its title.

Fronted by singer-songwriter Stephen Sol, the band channels influences from The Beatles, Dave Matthews Band, Bo Burnham, CAKE, and Bob Dylan, creating music that is raw, joyful, and unafraid to veer into the unexpected. With horns, gospel-tinged backing vocals, and a dynamic live energy, Stephen Sol & The 7 have already built a reputation for packed, high-energy shows at venues like Union Stage and Galactic Panther.

Following the momentum of their singles “Eternal Peace” and “Forever Changed”, the group now offers their first cohesive project: Sunshine Wine, a five-song collection capturing the warmth of late summer, the mystery of night, and the healing power of love.

About the EP Sunshine Wine

Recorded in Washington, D.C., the Sunshine Wine EP is steeped in the sound of live instrumentation and close-knit collaboration. Across its five tracks, listeners are taken on an emotional journey through joy, reflection, heartbreak, rebirth, and love.

“Sunshine Wine” – A golden-hour anthem that feels like drinking in the last rays of summer through a glass. Nostalgic, warm, and healing.

“The Moon” – The nocturnal counterpart, inspired by wolves howling under a mystic sky, featuring soaring harmonies from Yasmin Wamala, Bema Tadey, and LEIF.

“Forever Changed” – A haunting acoustic ballad of love and loss, intimate and resonant, perfect for fans of Hozier or Iron & Wine.

“Spring (I Made It)” – A survival anthem of rebirth, blending alternative rock intensity with cinematic storytelling.

“Hum of Love” – A radiant, feel-good closer celebrating love as the universe’s deepest vibration.

Live & Upcoming

To celebrate the EP, Stephen Sol & The 7 will headline Union Stage (Washington, D.C.) on January 9, 2026, followed by a regional East Coast tour leading into their full-length studio album, slated for release in February 2026.

About Stephen Sol & The 7

Raised on Johnny Cash and Elvis by his grandfather “Boots,” frontman Stephen Sol found his voice through a secondhand guitar and an obsession with The Beatles and My Morning Jacket. Today, he leads The 7, a nine-piece collective whose sound is as cinematic as it is intimate — blending rock grit, folk storytelling, soulful harmonies, and bursts of unhinged humor. Whether through stripped-down ballads, face-melting guitar solos, or playful skits woven into live shows, Stephen Sol & The 7 are redefining the indie folk-rock experience.
