Stunning and Pithy, Jack Carty releases new single ‘Pollyanna’

JACK CARTY

Prolific Australian singer-songwriter Jack Carty will release his new single “Pollyanna”, Friday 17 October 2025.

Known for his clear-eyed storytelling, he is Australia’s urban bard, writing frankly about modern life. Carty’s latest track – Pollyanna - is a sharp-eyed reflection on the noise that is relentless in our world, and counters this noise with a choice to keep moving forward through difficult times.

Carty is considered as one of Australia’s most consistent independent voices. Having built a strong reputation over more than a decade, releasing six albums and two EPs, touring internationally, and sharing stages with artists including Josh Pyke, the late Justin Townes Earle, and more recently supporting Katie Noonan’s on her “Grace” tour, celebrating 30 years of Jeff Buckley’s classic album in theatres across Australia.

POLLYANNA

Pollyanna is about resilience, hope, and the quiet courage of optimism,” says Carty. “It’s a song that came from reflecting on how we carry ourselves through life’s harder seasons and the strength it takes to keep choosing joy.”

The track is entirely produced in Jack’s home studio, with the musician able to turn his hand to playing drums, bass and piano alongside the guitar and vocals that are a staple of his live show.

Pollyanna signals a taste of what’s to come as audiences await his 7th album to be released in March 2026. Rolling Stone said of Carty’s last album “Wake to a Bright Morning” (2022) one of his most accomplished, emotive, and best works to date.”

Carty has a strong back catalogue of work that has consistently drawn critical acclaim:

“Carty might well have found his happy place” ★★★★ — The Sunday Star Times

“These songs have almost a purity of spirit… You should own this” ★★★★ — The Sydney Morning Herald

“A man to watch” ★★★★ — The Weekend Australian
