Supermodel Drops Bold Second Single Entitled ‘No Future’*
Los Angeles-based artist and producer supermodel* (aka Frankie Beanie) returns with “no future” - a sonically rich, visually striking continuation of his mission to subvert expectation and build his own ruleset for making music. Listen [HERE].
Drawing from his Virginia roots, UK influences, and the energy of LA, “no future” expands on supermodel*’s flair for warped, clever hip-hop production. The track floats with Beastie Boys-inspired confidence, a laid-back guitar solo nodding subtly to Sublime, and Frankie’s signature deadpan delivery anchoring the whole thing in a sound world entirely his own.
The accompanying video, co-directed with longtime collaborator Bowen Moreno, is a love letter to DIY craftsmanship and cult pop references. Shot on tactile 16mm film, it draws inspiration from Jamiroquai’s “Virtual Insanity”, playfully deconstructing the visual language of iconic music videos while crafting something intentionally strange, and equally compelling. True to supermodel*’s ethos, it’s the reminder that the musical medium is there to be toyed with, poked fun at, and reimagined.
This is the second release from supermodel*, Frankie’s musical persona born from a lifelong obsession with punk, UK indie, dance music and hip-hop. With rules like “steal everything”, “don’t overthink shit”, and “all lowercase always,” the supermodel* project is a conscious departure from trying to be cool but instead, he’s leaning into instinct, chaos, and creative intent.
