The fin. Release Hopeful, Motown-Soul-Inspired New Track “Nebula”
Distributed by Decent Music PR, on behalf of The fin. ahead of their upcoming performance at the UK festival The Great Escape and a headline show in London, The fin. return with their first new single in four months ‘Nebula’. Along with this release, The fin. will release a visualizer video on their official YouTube channel on the release day.
Described as “a song that reflects the state of mind of lingering on the edge of hesitation while keeping your eyes fixed on the light ahead,” the track is a bright and hopeful pop anthem that feels like stepping into a new chapter. Blending the refined sounds of ’60s–’70s American Motown and indie soul, the track showcases Yuto Uchino’s dreamy, melt-in-your-ears vocals over an exquisitely crafted soundscape.
Adding rich layers to the track are a lush saxophone solo and the refreshing tones of a flute, enhancing its sonic brilliance. Drums are performed by London-based Tomo Carter, while Hinata Ishii contributes saxophone and flute.
Their May 18th London show sold out in just a day, with an additional sold-out show for May 19th. The band also has a North America tour slated for July—The fin. continue to be a must-watch act on the global stage.
On the release, Yuto Uchino, The fin shares, “‘Nebula’ captures the sensation of drifting between the sea and sky—where the sea breeze brushes your skin and the warmth of the sun gently lights your face. It blends the dazzling sparkle of waves catching the light with a mystical calm that lingers in the hazy air. It’s a moment where inner doubts begin to stir, only to slowly melt away, giving rise to a quiet sense of hope. I wrote this song with the thrill of standing right on the edge of a new beginning. As the track progresses, it feels like being lifted above the clouds—pushed forward by a gentle but unstoppable force. Supported by the depth of the ocean, with stars twinkling overhead, it evokes the feeling of floating in a moment where the future isn’t yet clear, but still feels bright. Overall, it’s a hopeful and uplifting song, embracing that fleeting shift from the unknown to a new spark of light. Even while lingering on the edge of hesitation, it reflects the resolve to keep moving forward toward that distant glow.”
