Deal, Kent Heartland Punks’ New EP The Good, The Bad, & The Rest Of Us Released 12th June 2025
Announce July 2025 UK Live Dates
Deal, Kent-based heartland punks The Young Hearts are pleased to reveal their new single ‘The Good, The Bad, & The Rest Of Us’ set for digital release on 15th May 2025.
The track is the latest to be taken from their forthcoming new EP The Good, The Bad, & The Rest Of Us set for release on 12th June 2025.
The band have also revealed a short string of July 2025 UK headline tour dates, with tickets on sale now (see below for listings).
Commenting on the single, vocalist/guitarist Craig Lawrence says: “In my youth I knew who I wanted to be, and who I didn’t want to be, and through the decisions I’ve made in life, I’ve ended up somewhere in between. ‘The Good, The Bad & The Rest Of Us’ is about the naivety and innocence of being young and not knowing how important some of the choices we make at the time are. But it also looks at how it’s never too late to keep working on that person you wanted to be. It’s an idea that seemed to capture the essence of the whole EP, so it became the obvious choice for the title track.”
Offering both catharsis and comfort in equal measure, that emotional relatability pulses through every track on The Good, The Bad & The Rest Of Us. The follow-up to their previous release Somewhere Through The Night, the new EP emerges from a place of clarity and creative freedom. Where the band’s second album saw them meticulously experimenting after a hiatus, this new chapter finds them harnessing those lessons with confidence. “We used that experience, knowledge and direction to create something new with a lot more ease and freedom,” says Lawrence.
The title track follows on from lead single ‘Steady Hands’ and previously released EP track ‘Hell Or High Water’ which appeared late last year, heralding a new era for the Kent quartet, with a flurry of alternative tastemaker blog support from The Punk Site, Scene Point Blank, I Love Pop Punk and more.
The Young Hearts are a four-piece band hailing from the former fishing, mining, and garrison town of Deal in Kent, on the south coast of England. Blending the heartfelt storytelling of Americana with the raw energy of modern punk rock, they draw influence from the likes of The Bouncing Souls, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, The Clash and The Killers.
Combining punchy, anthemic melodies with introspective lyrics that resonate deeply with their audience, they’ve carved out a dedicated and fervent fan base over the course of their career so far. The band’s music channels the spirit of small town dreams and big stage ambition, creating a sound that’s as evocative as it is energetic.
Releasing their debut EP Everything We Left Behind in 2015, the quartet quickly followed up with 2017’s well-received Honestly, I’m Just Thinking. Their debut album The Modern State emerged in 2021, with sophomore album Somewhere Through The Night coming on Year of The Rat Records soon after in 2023.
To date, the band have received press and radio support from BBC 6Music, Kerrang! Magazine, Rock Sound, ALT PRESS, Radio X, RTE2XM, Total Rock Radio, Triple J, Idobi Radio, 89FM, BT TV and more. Their music has also received official editorial playlisting from Spotify, Apple, Deezer, Amazon Music, Pandora, Tidal, Youtube Music and more.
The Young Hearts have previously toured and shared stages with the likes of Can’t Swim, Junior, and Mallory Knox.
