Tommy Oeffling Announces New LP ‘Picture of Health’ Out June 6, 2025

MILWAUKEE, WI — Tommy Oeffling has recently announced his upcoming album Picture of Health. Set for release on June 6, 2025 via gramps records, the album is a colorful mess of fuzzy dream pop and indie dad rock. Four whole singles are already available to stream: ‘Ex-Florist’ and ‘Oh! Luna’ released May 2, ‘Ryan on the Corner' released on May 12, and Dry Spots (Wash) is out TODAY (May 23)!

Oeffling was born and raised in Johnsburg, IL, a small town near the Illinois-Wisconsin border that spans about half a soybean field. Raised by high school teachers, he was taught to express himself in a town where creativity wasn’t normally encouraged. He started playing the drums at four years old, and recorded his first album on an iPod nano at age seven. Reminiscent of Yo La Tengo, Wilco, Built to Spill, and King Krule, Picture of Health echoes Oeffling’s childhood greats. It's him on nearly every instrument, from the organ to the trash can lid. 

Candidly reflecting on the album, Oeffling shares, “I mix everything myself. As bad as it is, my music needs it. It adds character. Of all my albums, I love how this one sounds. It’s definitely my best lyrically, I’m really airing it out the whole time.”

The Milwaukee-based musician never intended to strike gold three years ago. His 2022 single ‘cityscape’ released independently with almost no promotion, and quickly amassed over 3 million streams. His unexpected success continued, with the 2023 LP ‘cardigan hate train’ hitting over 5 million total streams, and the following single ‘oh, you’ garnering 1 million of its own that same year. The surge in streams attracted the attention of multiple labels, but Oeffling has remained completely independent. Following in the footsteps of his parents, he's is currently studying to become a history teacher at Marquette University.

Picture of Health Tour dates to be announced Jun 11. Tommy will be playing NYC, Boston, Philadelphia, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, and Chicago throughout August 2025.

ABOUT TOMMY OEFFLING 

Tommy Oeffling makes his music in his bedroom on the second floor of a rather unassuming duplex in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and you can tell. You can hear every step he takes, every creak of his chair, every flubbed guitar part, every breath between takes, and he likes it that way. Born and raised in the middle of nowhere, there was little to do besides leaf through his dad’s CD’s. Oeffling’s sound echoes his greats, with messy riffs inspired by Stephen Malkmus and Built to Spill, accompanied by poetic lyrics reminiscent of Adrienne Lenker and King Krule. His upcoming LP ‘Picture of Health’ will be available to stream on June 6th, 2025.
