Cologne, Germany based “brutal post-punks” TV CULT are pleased to reveal their new single ‘Crack The Whip’, which is set for release on 8th July 2025 via all good digital service providers.
The song is the latest to be taken from their second album, Industry, which will be released later this year on 10th October 2025, with the band revealing the album artwork and tracklist today.
Industry will be available on 12” vinyl with 300 limited "Industry" grey copies and 200 black, with ticket and merch bundle details also TBA.
Preorders are live now from: https://www.flight13.com/tv-cult-industry-lp-vinyl/157651
The artwork for Industry features a photograph from world famous Köln based photographer Boris Becker’s ‘Konstruktionen’ series (http://www.boris-becker.com).
A bruising hardcore track with a dark electronic edge that echoes the rich diversity of the German alternative music scene that TV CULT call home, ‘Crack The Whip’ is a politically charged slice of brutalism that shines a light on the lack of leadership and moral direction plaguing European governments.
Commenting on the single, the band said: “'Crack The Whip' is essentially a hardcore song inspired by Cologne's electronic music history and religious heritage. It deals with taking ownership of and reverting to Christian values in the absence of any values shown by our elected politicians.”
The track follows on from lead single ‘Communion’ which was released earlier this spring, earning a flurry of praise from underground music media including VISIONS Magazine and IDLES’ Adam “Dev” Devonshire on his Rinse FM show Bruiser.
Select German live dates for October/November 2025 are on sale now, including an album launch show at Bumann & Sohn, Cologne on 7th October 2025, with further UK/EU live dates TBA over the coming months (see below for listings).
On their forthcoming new album, TV CULT are set to chart darker waters than ever before, exploring themes including the decline of western culture and rejecting the belief systems that are presented to us.
Recorded by Christoph Scheidel at 79 Sound Studios in Cologne, the album was mixed at Holy Mountain Studios, London by Misha Hering (High Vis, Idles) and mastered by Brad Boatright (Off!, Sleep, Stranger Things OST) at Audiosiege, Portland.
The band are currently riding a wave of underground press frenzy in their home nation, and are now setting their sights on taking their brutalist approach to wider audiences in the UK.

More info:
TV Cult are an eighties-inspired Post-Punk band from Cologne, Germany. Driven by brooding, domineering bass lines, cold and frantic guitars, powerful drums, and vocals that alternate between gothic croon and golden-era DC hardcore, TV Cult create a sound that blends the best of bands like Joy Division, Black Flag and Idles, yet is truly unique.
Recorded in the winter of 2022 at 79 Sound Studios, the four-piece released their widely praised debut LP Colony in November 2023 via Flight 13 Records. Since then TV Cult have completed their own headline tours across Germany, Austria and France as well as supported hot property names High Vis, DITZ, Militarie Gun, USA Nails, Ist Ist and Home Front across Europe.
